Cute place with adorable decor and nice staff. Food was delicious and came quick. Was really happy with my visit. Prices weren't bad for a college town.
We passed this diner on our way to the hotel after a long day on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We asked the guy at the hotel about this place and he said he eats there regularly.
We were not disappointed with the recommendation. The food was delicious, home cooked food that wasn't expensive served by a very friendly and efficient guy.
If I lived here I'd visit regularly. Much better than going to a restaurant chain as there was a personal touch and a homely feel.
The milkshakes are amazing as were the dill pickle chips. The home made meatloaf and gravy was delicious.
A brilliant experience set in a 1950s style diner. My best dining experience I've had in the USA.
This place has some of the best fries in Boone, and it was very affordable. The wait staff were great, and food was sent out in a reasonable time. I loved the atmosphere and the internal decorations with neon lights along the ceiling were great. They serve American and American Southwest food, and breakfast food all day. It's a nice place to grab some casual food.
Troy's is a perfect example of how a small-town, local business should be run. I own Boone Cellular, two doors down, so I'm there A LOT. The owner is beyond friendly, the staff is knowledgeable, quick, and always eager to please. All that aside, the food is wonderful! I've never had a dish I didn't like. I'd recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists alike!
The food was good, the service was good, the place itself is really cool. It's truly is a classic diner. The only bad thing I can say is they don't play any music or background noise (the waitress said the speakers are broken) so it was oddly quiet. Other then that is was a really fun place to eat. I would recommend this place for any age.
