Visiting from Florida here. Absolutely amazing American food. The roast beef and mash potatoes is fantastic. The banana pie is simply the best I had ever.
If you think American food is plain, this place will blow you away.
Also it's very affordable.
This place has the best homemade food. Their biscuits and gravy are to die for. Get there early before they run out though. I have also eaten there for lunch. My family goes there all the time. Next best thing to cooking it yourself
The 5 stars is for the pies, which are nothing short of perfection. The best are the Coconut Cream and the Banana Cream.
I haven't eaten from the rest of the menu in years. But I regularly order pies from there. They are worth every penny.
I ordered the ham steak with French fries and lettuce salad. The ham steak was 2 big slices of grilled ham with 2 grilled pineapple slices on top. It was very good. The French fries were standard crinkle cut fries but were cooked the way I like them perfectly crisp on the outside but did not have as much flavor as I would have liked. The lettuce salad was a basic salad you can buy at the store in a bag with carrot and cabbage slivers in it but the house made 1000 island dressing was delicious, I wish the salad had been bigger. My husband ordered the shepherd's pie with sweet potatoes, coleslaw, and rye bread. He liked the shepherd's pie and the sweet potatoes and said the coleslaw was really good but the rye bread was too sweet for him. We also got a slice of blueberry pie with ice cream. The pie was good even though I'm not a huge fan of blueberries, the crust was crisp and thick the way I like it. I didn't try the ice cream (lactose intolerant) but I didn't hear any complaints from my husband. The staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentive but the window we sat next to was letting a lot of cold air in (it was 35 degrees outside) which made the meal mildly unpleasant. I did like their pos system which allows you to select a percentage of tip instead of having to do math.
Excellent service...fast/courteous. The very best breakfast in Southwest Ohio. Super tasty. Family run for 80 years. Great prices. Well baked pies. Highly recommend!
