Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

I am pleased to edit this review to it's deserving fate. I was hesitant to make the last minute reservation online through Open Table, but I called the next day to make sure that it still stands, and with luck, it did. When welcomed by, who I assumed, was the restaurant manager, I felt welcomed and seated with ease despite the seating being relatively full in the main dining area. My guest and I were seated above the bar with the windows which was much more lovely than I expected and felt as though my servers were at my disposal with how often they arrived at the table, even to fill the water cups. Their appearance to the table didn't seem opposing to the dinner conversation and the overall treatment with respect and delight. The food was much more satisfying than before. The flavors seemed to pair well with each other, not oppressing flavors all together. The calamari is a go-to for me and while it's not my favorite, it is still a close second. I personally prefer my calamari to be a little crunchier and less chewy but the savory sauce that it has makes the entire dish worthy of a second order. The Gruyere burger is amazing, but certainly does not come close to the star dish of Potato Gruyere Gratin. If you come here, you MUST order this dish. The Steak Kosar has the best Bearnaise sauce I have ever come across, although there is not many other dishes to compare it with. As the first time taster of Creamed Corn, I don't think I will ever be able to taste anything less than this divine masterpiece. Overall, the second experience completely exceeded expectations with the true "Hyde Park experience" and will come again if this is the standard is upheld once more.

I've been here a few times and it's always great.

I had the aged bone-in ribeye this time around and can easily say it's the best steak I've eaten anywhere. Taste, texture, preparation were all perfect in my opinion. I don't say this about food that often as its difficult to identify something as the best I've eaten. This was. Dad and brother also had this steak and agreed completely.

Lobster mashed potatoes and potatoes gratin were also excellent as usual.

Well done (the restaurant, not the steak)!

Lived up to the hype! Great food excellent service! Went there for a work event and they handled our 25 guest with ease and precision.
