Monarch is a great lounge in the Short North. The decor is very well done; somewhat intimate. It's not the largest place, but it's laid out very well. There's high top, couch and table seating. If that doesn't work for you, there's seating at the bar. Our bartender, Danny G, was GREAT! Get him if you can. All of his drinks tasted smooth and he had helpful recommendations. Around 11:00 the crowd really starts to roll in. There's a dancefloor and the guy-to-girl ratio was just right. Come dressed looking good--not in jeans and a t-shirt.

I've always been met with friendly staff and great service. Charlie took great care of us last time I was in at the bar. Awesome happy hour specials and a great cocktail menu. The food has always been delicious.
