Having driven to Alexandria to enjoy this vegan jewel, I am thankful that it is now in Columbus! My favs: Cali Fish Tacos, Chicken & Biscuits, Pancakes, potatoes & sausage and Nice Cream!
From Sunday Brunch to Taco Tuesday, or late night eats any day of the week, Village Taco has plenty to satisfy the palate. Much gratitude for offering a fulfilling Vegan option to the Columbus community.
Best vegan Mexican food I've had! Huge portions with great flavors. House made hard shell tacos were fantastic. They have a cocktail menu with a full bar. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Place is doing it. Went with friends on Friday night and they were slamming. I’m a whiskey guy, so the bar only had one choice for me. Pretty limited that way, but the beer flows and cocktails are available. The chef never stood still and he was pumping out beautifully plated large servings of tacos, enchiladas, burritos galore. The band was not too loud, I really hate sacrificing my hearing in small venues, but their volume was more on the acoustic side, thank you. The base player did the riff from “You can all me Al” for me. This place is not your grandfather’s Potato Head, but he gone and a new guy is making it happen. And, oh by the way, did I mention this be vegan? High end/quality Latin food with an average high end tab. You gotta try it.
New spot off Parsons with vege/vegan style Mexican. I really liked the nachos and the presentations for all the dishes were top notch. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I enjoyed the food and margaritas. They had a band setting up when we were leaving so it might be a pretty cool late night spot to grab a couple tacos and listen to some live music. Def a great place to bring someone with dietary restrictions.
I am not a regular vegan eater but am attracted to places like Village Tacos to see how they are able to produce delicious meals given the limitations imposed by the vegan diet. Johnny and Heidi have put together a small but outstanding menu of options centered around a Tex-Mex theme that contain locally sourced products. They even offer locally brewed beers and a creative set of cocktails. There is a corner stage that will feature local musicians. The decor is sparse but that makes their massive collection of wall maps stand out on every wall. Come check it out and I promise you that you will return. There is a parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking.
