Grand River Cellars

My family of 4 came here for Mother's Day. The food was very good, but there were a few things that happened that really bummed us out. First of all, all the food was served on plastic, disposable plates(?). We were even handed plastic forks with our entrees (even though we had real silverware at least already on the table). Since it was a special occasion, we were extremely disheartened, because we picked this place that we thought was a fancy winery, and well...we got handed steak on flimsy, disposable plastic plates. Our waiter was nice, but he didn't even explain why. It also took over half an hour to get our food, which our waiter explained by saying, "We got all the big tables inside served, so now we'll finally get to you guys' orders out here," which was...also disheartening. I understand the kitchen has to prioritize meals, but, to just flat out tell us that? I'd rather have been told a simple "Should be right out!" or something. It's not like we asked why it was taking so long. Anyway, it was very good food (although the 2 steaks we ordered were under-done by 1 level each) and the setting is nice. I just wish we had been treated a little better. And I really wish we could have had real plates. That alone really humiliated us, as a family who doesn't go out to "nice" places very much.

Met some friends here last night and were overall very pleased! We enjoyed great service from Erica, our Bourbon and Blue steak and shrimp meals were all cooked to perfection and went well with the Austin's Red. Thank you for supporting Autism Speaks!
The only thing that detracted from a lovely time with friends was that when we made reservations, we were not told there was live music....and while it was good music, it was LOUD and made conversation challenging. Otherwise, everything was great and we will be back. It was advertised on the website though, which we saw in the coming events section.

First timers, I tried to find a reason to give Grand River a 4 star rating ... and I couldn't. The bar staff was great, food was excellent (I had a Tipsy Pig Pizza - wife had bourbon chicken sandwich), the wine very good and the atmosphere was pretty good too. My only thing ... I like a real fireplace and a larger spot to dance. We'll be back during the summer!

Excellent winery with a great selection of wines! They also have a variety of foods. The olive oil tasting it awesome. I also love that they have a couple of different wines in which part of the cost gets donated to a different charity. Definitely want to go back!

Edited to reinforce our 5 star review 3/27/19. Always our first stop on a Friday night on our way to wine country. Very vibrant atmosphere, especially mid-summer and the place is packed full. The combination of restaurant, live music and dance venue, winery, was a bit confusing on our first trip. But it's just a little weird like that, but lots of fun!
