Great place to eat. Great employees. I eat here three or four times a week.
The Florentine is kind of a gem. It would be easy to drive by and barely notice it, and assume that it’s just run-of-the-mill. But then, you would really miss out. The menu, the service, and the warm atmosphere make this worth the visit.
The service was really quite good. The staff went out of their way to make sure that our group of 7 had everything they needed. They worked together, which is refreshing: though one of the staff was in charge of our table, others checked up on us and made sure everything was good.
The appetizers were good-not-great. Stuffed mushrooms and a spinach dip with tortilla chips were decent. The potato skins took an inordinate amount of time, but then turned out to be quite tasty.
The entrees, though, were very satisfying. I went with the dry aged steak and their vegetable of the day (Brussels sprouts), and it was wonderful. My salad and my baked potato were just right. No complaints.
The dessert choices felt a bit limited, but the cheesecake I ordered was just right.
I hadn’t been to the Florentine in years, and mostly just thought it was “ok”. But after going back this past weekend, I realize it truly is a great place to eat, drink, and be merry.
We enjoyed our dinner, food was cooked perfectly and the atmosphere was superb. The building is beautiful as it is historic and well taken care of. All of the waitresses were very professional and friendly. I will be back to bring my mother and father!
Good food at reasonable prices. Did date night with my dear wife here. Historic surroundings with some classic menu items. I liked the meatloaf.
The Florentine is a beautiful old building worth the visit alone. The architecture and decor are amazing!
We stopped in for lunch and sat by a large fireplace. I had the classic fish & chips and was very happy with it. The owner was there and shared some of the history of the building and said that they have only been the proprietors since January of 2018. It sounds like they've done a lot in that time to restore the place without removing its historic charm.
