“Long time loyal customer. We go almost every weekend for breakfast. It can get very busy, as there are not many dining places in our small town. That is to be expected and no fault of theirs. The servers are almost all high school students, which I think is great. Being in a small town with not much going on, it's a great opportunity as a first job that is close to home. I appreciate that they give these kids a chance. The owners are almost always on site, working right along side their employees, which is great to see. He sometimes goes around doing magic card tricks for children while they wait! It is home cooked meals at very low prices. My favorite breakfast is called the Virginia and it's under $5.00! Large plate full of biscuit, egg, hash browns and cheese, smothered in their gravy. I would recommend this place 1000xs over.”

“The Florentine is kind of a gem. It would be easy to drive by and barely notice it, and assume that it’s just run-of-the-mill. But then, you would really miss out. The menu, the service, and the warm atmosphere make this worth the visit. The service was really quite good. The staff went out of their way to make sure that our group of 7 had everything they needed. They worked together, which is refreshing: though one of the staff was in charge of our table, others checked up on us and made sure everything was good. The appetizers were good-not-great. Stuffed mushrooms and a spinach dip with tortilla chips were decent. The potato skins took an inordinate amount of time, but then turned out to be quite tasty. The entrees, though, were very satisfying. I went with the dry aged steak and their vegetable of the day (Brussels sprouts), and it was wonderful. My salad and my baked potato were just right. No complaints. The dessert choices felt a bit limited, but the cheesecake I ordered was just right. I hadn’t been to the Florentine in years, and mostly just thought it was “ok”. But after going back this past weekend, I realize it truly is a great place to eat, drink, and be merry.”

The only reason i gave it four stars was because the cheese breadsticks i got were not good at all which is surprising considering how good the pizza is. “Granted this is fast food and we shouldn't expect top notch quality, I would like at least for my food to be warm when I get it. I've noticed that while chicken sandwich options are usually warm, it seems every beef product I order is cold and often doesn't seem fresh. But my real issue is the eggs, which clearly made in the morning is old and green by the afternoon. I suggest if you order an egg sandwich later in the day, don't. I have yet to have a fresh one so I just order it without the egg.”
