My family and I drove by Sand Pebbles and decided to try it out. So glad we did! Sand Pebbles is our new favorite spot for delicious sushi. Try the Caterpillar and Dragon roll. The fish is so fresh and the owners are delightful. We have been to Sand Pebbles 5 times in the last two weeks. It is definitely a must for sushi on the back patio.

Been waiting not so patiently for this new restaurant in town to open and tonight I got to dig into several dishes. Let's dig in.
Started off with the Thai Hot Wings.
The menu describes them with words like spicy and hot. Unfortunately neither of these is true. On the plus side these are nice size wings, they do have bbq'd taste but the the sauce on the side is a bland sweet sauce that really adds nothing to the dish but disappointment. Add a real dip to these wings Chef and you'll have a winner.
    Massaman Curry up next
With shrimp. Loads of shrimp! Excellent balance of flavors. Perfectly cooked. Only issue, just 2 small chunks of potatoes in one serving. Not a big deal especially when I just said the balance was there. But visually, knowing potatoes are part of the recipe. Well. It was a wonderful, beautiful dish.
    Beef Ka Pao
The menu had this beside the title(Thai Style Hot Basil)** . I couldn't find the legend anywhere to indicate what I would be in store for with this order but I took a clue from the above mention Thai Hot Wings and ordered. Unfortunately with the same results. Not spicy. Not hot but thankfully good nonetheless. Really, if I enjoyed this dish as much as I did and I certainly did, there no telling how much more wonderful it will be when hot and spices really do hit my tongue.
We had a few other item on the menu but as I didn't sample those so I won't comment. All in all I was more than happy with the foods I sampled. I think once the Chef gets over his fear of his use of spices or his fear of serving spiced food to the general public, his tasty delights will be even more delightful.
Every new business experiences a few hiccups when first opening its doors. Yes, the takeout button isn't working and the menu is a mess but these things will get worked out. I have no doubts that Sand Pebbles will be a huge hit in our community and I for one am most grateful they choose Aurora in which to make their way. I'll be back quite often and am looking forward to making my way through their extensive sushi menu next! Welcome to Aurora!
