Kinda in the middle of nowhere, but a great buffet stocked with comfort Thanksgiving type food. There is also a salad bar. You can also order meals from a menu. There is a banquet room and a gift shop and an "Amish" store with awesome baked goods. Service was excellent and the whole facility was well kept. Right off of 71 interstate. Stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner but beware, it closes at 8pm and is closed on Sundays.
The Der Dutchman is a wonderful experience with great home style cooking. If you come bring your appetite, servings are plentiful. With good service.
Service staff was very friendly and the food was really good. Our kids loved the atmosphere. Always drove past on our way home from Columbus and finally stopped, wish we would have done it sooner. The menu has something for everyone and the portions are good. Will be back.
Dessert was delicious. Food was mostly good, though we wouldn't recommend the meatloaf. We went on a Monday and they were out of a lot of things. Everyone in our party had to make second and even third choices. Our waitress was sweet but we did not get the waters we asked for until after we were finished with the meal and we had to ask another server a question.
We'll definitely be back for the pie but may take it to go.
We have tried the Der Dutchman before at thanksgiving with their family thanksgiving dinner takeout (which was delicious by the way). But this was our first time to actually dine and we enjoyed it.
First off, THANK YOU for sitting our family in the horse carriage booth. Our daughter loved it and it was a great way to end our family day. Our daughter loves horses so eating in the horse carriage, she was able to pretend that we riding in one. Or she pretended that she was driving the carriage. So thank you so much.
Food was delicious. Our daughter had the kids fish meal, wife had the turkey with green beans while I went all out with the barn rising buffet. Prices are excellent. It was about $48 before tip and that included desserts. Plus we left stuffed and satisfied.
Desserts by the way are amazing. Peanut Butter cream pie was superb.
Service from the front of the house, to our waitress and others was excellent. Friendly and interactive with us.
This is a must stop and visit for a good quality meal.
