R. Shea Brewing - Canal Place Downtown Akron

From the greeting to the sit down to the food to the beer. This place has it down! Had a beer flight and one other beer. I have never been to a brewery that I have enjoyed every beer that I tasted. The food was absolutely fantastic as well. A very open environment that you can meet anyone in any situation.

Being from Michigan and Beer City USA (Grand Rapids) I can truly appreciate this brewery.

This is the 3rd time I've been in. The first time was terrible. I barely had time to eat and was seated and waiting nearly 20 minutes of the hour lunch i get. The pizza was super good but I had time to eat one slice before I had to box it and go. The second time the service had marginally improved. The food again was splendid. This time was lunch during the early part of the day on a monday. Service was fast and friendly and as expected the food was delicious. Its my observation that the later it gets, the busier they are and they seem to be under staffed. If they can get that fixed this will be a stellar place to eat and drink and be merry.

My wife talked me into going there for a bit. The staff was friendly and curious. The room is a large part of a tire shop that was made over in a great way with there full beer brewery as the showcase. They have so many beer's to choose from some of them you can only get there and some of the flavors are unforgettable. There bar food is always great, hot and tastes great. I have been there a few times and we plan on making this place a regular spot to go to. There are so much to say about this place, there's just not enough time to tell you. Anyone who has read my review know I don't give five stars to a lot of places. But this is a place that has something for everyone. Hope you stop in to try it out.

The atmosphere was great! Very open and inviting. We tried 10/18 of the beers and found the lighter beers tasted almost the same. The stouts on the other hand were completely different. Ohh don't get guacamole unless you like salt. Yummy pretzels and hummus! Didn't try any of the other items but they did look tasty. Hope this helps.

What can't be said but absolute praises for these guys! A local business that is growing and full of great food and drink, what could be better. You can't go wrong with any of the craft beers as the master Brewer is one of the best in the idea, and has the awards to back it up. Unfortunately all of the food is so good it's hard to sample it all in one sitting, so you have to return to enjoy it. Both the pizza and burgers are well beyond the typical, it's not the usual bar food. Not once have I had a bland meal here as all dishes pack themselves full of flavor. For those local and visiting, this is the top leading brewer in the area and well worth the visit. Don't forget about their original Merriman Valley location, it's a small quaint place with just as much charm and flavor.

Bring the whole family or business meeting, they have plenty of space for all sizes of groups including weddings.
