Añejo Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Friends suggested we try Anejo. The cantina/resteraunt has been open only 5 months, using the now defunct New Living Room space. Plenty of free parking, easily seen from the road. The decor is beautifully understated with muted earth tones. The Hispanic nature is established with decor items vice panic schemes. The "cantina bar seats 15+. The dining area has over 20 tables and booths.
We were early for lunch and immediately seated with the chips/Pico degallo/Cole slaw quickly appearing. The Pico had a unique smokey flavor that was really tasty. We were given two menus. One full and one lunch.
We selected the Anejo Lunch Burrito and Acapulco Salad. They appeared inside of 5 min. The burrito queso sauce was a bit thin for my preference but the presentation and taste was excellent. Portion size was large. The Acapulco Salad was served without dressing but the chicken was excellent and flavored the greens. Portion size was very large.
The server checked in on us and we chatted about the place.
The only negative was the tinny-sounding sound system and music. It was very discordant and annoying.
That said, we had a great lunch. I will look for an opportunity to go back for a dinner meal. The food/atmosphere and service were some of the best I have had in the area!
PS: We discovered a large banquet area just off the dining room.

My husband ordered the Hawaiian fajitas and really enjoyed it. The service is quick and friendly. I am a vegetarian. I ordered the guacamole and French fries because even though they had a vegetarian section on their menu...the rice had chicken broth in it, and the red sauce had beef broth in it. French fries are my jam...eat every day if I could...these were shoe string fries served hot with packets of ketchup.

Our first experience here was fantastic! The food was great, the patio is really nice and our service was really good!!!! I forget the name of my Burritos but it had chicken and steak and came with shrimp as well. It was awesome! My wife loved her shrimp tacos too. And the cheese sauce!!!! ❤️

May be my new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Delicious! I tried Anejo because the restaurant I planned to go to was closed. I was interested in trying Anejo, but wasn't sure how it would be since it opened so recently. It was great. I had Tacos al Pastor, rice, beans, and sangria and would recommend them all. Service was SO quick and the free chips and salsa were also good. Comfortable seating, plenty of room, and easy parking. I will definitely be back!

Clean and bright atmosphere. Tables are perfectly placed, so you don't feel like you're on top of everyone. Service was amazing, very attentive, and polite. Chips were light and hot, and salsa was fresh with a little heat! Food was hot and had tons of flavor. They had sopes which are rare to find around town. The corn patties were crispy with a soft middle, I got carnitas and it was really good. I remembered to take photos after we started eating.
