Grey Sweater

Amazing. Every course, every flavor was perfect. I did not know food could achieve that level of art. The crew provided the best dining experience my husband and I have ever had.

My husband and I went to Grey Sweater for our anniversary dinner on November 30, 2019. We had a reservation on the early side and were the first guests that evening. We were seated at the counter so we were able to see all the prep and interact with the chefs/staff throughout the evening. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, informative and so enjoyable!

Shortly after making our reservation, the restaurant called and asked a handful of questions. In answer to one, we told them we honeymooned in Germany. During the course of dinner, they brought out a German beer as a gesture to personalize our experience. It was so appreciated!

Twice throughout the evening, Chef Black came over to chat with us and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. It's always a pleasure to interact with the chef! Chef Black was so friendly and approachable, and when we left, he genuinely thanked us for choosing Grey Sweater and wished us a happy anniversary.

In addition to the second-to-none service, the food was INCREDIBLE. Every single course was something special and new. We dine out often and love coursed dinners like this one. We chose the 7 course dinner (for our 7th anniversary), and all seven courses were so special.

Some highlights:
- The sous-vide parsnip (first course) made me wonder why I didn't LOVE parsnips all along! The texture and flavor were unlike anything I've had before.
- The scallop was my favorite course
- it was the most delicious and perfectly cooked scallop I've ever eaten. I could have eaten ten of them! - The sea bream in a carrot top "chimichurri" was my husband's favorite - with a subtle but certain background heat.

The wine pairings were perfect (we did the silver pairing) and the amaretto they finished with was another welcome surprise (who knew I loved amaretto?!) Overall, this night was perfect and we cannot wait for a repeat very soon!

An exquisite dining experience! It’s obvious that Chef Black has paid immense attention to every detail, from the decor to the garnishes. The menu was absolutely divine, and the portions were large. The wine pairing is definitely worth it, with one wine per course, and the wines were very well-curated. It was delightful to watch the food preparation, and Chef Black came around to speak with us midway through. We were thoroughly impressed with this luxurious dining experience in OKC and will definitely be back!

This was my most favorite delicious dinner experience ever. Thank you Chef Black for taking us on a culinary adventure.
