Pros: sauce, Mac & cheese, pickels, baked beans with burnt ends, ribs, prices, and their speed.
Cons: dry chicken breast (only option), wet & tasteless tri-tip (it was dripping water, not fat).
I loved the items in the pro section. The cons can easily be fixed. I will try them again next time I'm in town.
I had the wings, side, and cheesecake. The wings were awesome! Great smokey flavor and the bbq sauce on it didn't overdo the smokey yummy flavor. The side was the rainbow noodles and they were pretty good. I would add bacon to it personally, but that's just me. The cheesecake though was the best cheesecake I've ever had! Yes it had a light smoke to it, but it only added to the flavor. I think it was orange and pomegranate, and you'd think it wouldn't taste good, but what the hell. I tried it and it was a perfect, light end to the dinner. I am gonna go back to try other stuff. It's okay on the price, people just needs to realize good food doesn't come in a box. Oh and the waitstaff are really cool people. I had the good luck to go in after the dinner rush, and talk with some of them. They are really nice and down to earth.
Overall, okay. Smoker probably needs a bit more seasoning for a little more flavor. Nice smoke ring on the tri-tip, but not as much flavor as hoped. Chicken was a bit dry. BBQ baked beans were very good. Ordered a full salad and it was very good, and came out on same sized plate as the three meat meal. So if you are sharing it's great, but a single person might want a half order salad. $33 for a three meat/three side meal, a full salad, and two soft drinks.
We had the burnt ends and the Cascade sandwich with tri-tip. Our side was the bean salad. The sandwich was great, the bbq sauce had a bit of a kick but not to hot. The burnt ends were great. The miss was the bean salad. It was like they rinsed them completely and put them together. No flavor. But we will be back. We will try a different side.
This is the first barbecue restaurant I saw in Corvalis. It tastes good and I want to go back and forth for the second time.
