Somewhat of a mixed experience, but generally on the good side. Food was tasty, as we've come to expect from Rogue. Chowder is always a good idea. We enjoyed nearly all of the beer samples as well. The setting is fun and has an iconic old-style fishing town feel. Being out on the pier, views are great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The biggest issue/area of concern was the speed of the food. Despite there only being 4 other parties in early/mid-afternoon, the food took almost 25 minutes after ordering, despite being very simple choices. We actually went through most of our beer before the food arrived.
We decided to do a one day road trip exploration of Northwest Oregon for Christmas day and made Astoria one of our destinations because of its historical significance and location on the Columbia River/mouth if Pacific ocean. We ended up at Rogue for lunch/dinner and it was amazing. Great food great view. We had a great time.
Cool location on the dock over the water. Like most Rogue establishments it isn't trying to be fancy, which adds to the charm at least for me. Many good beers from Rogue to enjoy and sample. They also have some cocktails made from their own spirits. The building is large and houses several other business and could be worth a walk around.
We stopped in on a Sunday evening and were treated by AJ - a fantastic person and top notch server.
He delighted us with tips about the area and checked in regularly. A man on the go- he never sat still and still made us feel like we were his only customers :)
Also - their brews are wonderful. I love that they have a unique glass for each pour, and the food was tasty.
I stumbled on this and it’s one of my new favorite places on the planet! I’ve always loved Dead Guys ale and knew that Rogue was somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, but didn’t realize where.
Salmon sandwich was excellent, sweet potato fries were maybe the best I’ve ever had! Slightly crunchy and super salty outside, creamy delicious inside - perfect!
The beer, the views, the staff all superb!
