We had to walk out of another restaurant because after waiting for an hour to be served, the food was brought to us barely warm. We went to Finn's and had a fantastic dinner hot and delicious in exactly 20 minutes! Excellent halibut and tender and very tasty steak! GOOD JOB FINN'S!
This is quite possibly the best seafood in Seaside, OR. That said, growing up 90 minutes away in Portland I have been a forever tourist to Seaside and have eaten at almost every restaurant (twice). Excellently battered, high quality seafood. Masterfully crafted complex chowder. Herby house made tarter sauce. Thick and creamy Alfredo sauce. I would give this place a minor ding for a lesser quality service, but I won't as the food shines through that and is worth waiting two minutes to be seated in an early bird dinner time dining room.
My family and I stopped in for lunch and were greeted by a cozy fire-lit setting. We ordered the oyster shooters, which were a great deal (6 for $11) and were really fresh and meaty. Cocktail sauce was the right amount of tang. We ordered a chicken strip basket from the kids menu, which proved to be quite filling for an 8 year old. Menu selections were easy to read when we decided on ordering a chowder bowl and a 2-piece halibut fish & chips with sweet potato fries; no extra charge). The chowder was hearty with chunky bits of potato and clams with a “hint of smoked salmon”. YUM! Fish & chips weren’t too greasy and a were tasty served with house made tartar and a smoky fry sauce. Worth stopping for a bite to eat.
Great service, great food, great vibe! Came here for a Saturday morning breakfast and left full and impressed. Indoor and outdoor seating are both very nice with fire features in both. Waitress was attentive and welcoming, appreciated her above-and-beyond moves.
Had the chowder and Cod fish and chips...I would call them average. The best part was the seasoning in the batter on the fish and the tarter sauce. The fish was a little on the oily side. The chowder was under seasoned. The fries were pretty standard. They have a good beer selection though!
