This restaurant has a very "local" feel to it. It seems to be filled with lots of local folks, all having breakfast and enjoying themselves. That's a good sign. There are a lot of great options in the menu. We received exactly what we ordered. The portions are generous and the food tastes great. Our waitress was great! She took the order by memory and has obviously mastered the art of knowing exactly when to check on us and when to leave us alone. The only downside is that, like most tourist areas, the food was very expensive. Soda, coffee and two breakfasts were over $30. However, I still recommend this place.
with this being my first time here by boyfriend's family recommended the sourdough pancakes and let me tell you... They are heavenly. from what I saw all of their food in general was absolutely wonderful. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. I definitely recommend!
If you want a small town diner vibe and a plate full of food, this is the place for you.
I got the Potato Pancakes. I have a mild Potato obsession. It came with applesauce and bacon. I gave the bacon to Mom, who got this giant omelet with a bran muffin and a side of fruit. Of which I stole half the fruit and muffin.
I have this 4 stars only because I'm mostly plant-based and this was not the healthiest meal of the trip. Also the muffin was slightly bland and the Potato Pancakes loaded with an unreasonable amount of either butter or cheese or both (couldn't tell).
But man, did we need all those calories hiking the Clatsop trail the rest of the day. In the end, we were glad to warm up before our hike and devour some local food.
The charm of this place is it's history and the value is it's large portions of food.
Busy place but great food! Crepes were outstanding. Bacon, thick and almost crisp so perfect for me. Eggs, hash browns, pancakes and breakfast sausage (delicious flavor) were each perfectly cooked the way we requested! We’ll definitely return when we’re back in this area.
