The escargot in mushrooms was the best thing I've put in my mouth in a while. This dish is devine. An in, from the heavens. I'm sitting at the bar so that takes a little something away from this experience. The fresh oysters are not (always) on the half. I asked the bartender about it and he said it's a supply and demand thing. Fair. They were still good. They were just not what I was expecting. They were served in shot glasses with cocktail sauce on the bottom. I would cross heaven and earth and listen to drunk people for these escargot shrooms any day.

My husband and I had never been here before and came for our anniversary on a recommendation from a friend. Omar’s did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and accommodating and really made us feel welcome and appreciated. I was so happy we could actually sit down for dinner and not have to take out because of Covid. I absolutely love the fact that they are a local landmark!! Fun facts, they have been in business since 1946 and are the longest running continuously operating restaurant from Portland Oregon to Redding California! Their restaurant is like stepping back in time in the best way!! It has a very warm, inviting atmosphere and their vintage feel is reminiscent of a restaurant scene from an old gangster movie! I love it! The food was A MAZ ING! the steak was far bigger than I had expected so be warned. It could easily feed two people or be several meals.
We were beyond gluttonous but at Omar’s, it’s easy to be! We will definitely come back. I highly recommend visiting this Southern Oregon landmark and enjoying a fabulous meal!!!
