Homemade tortillas and sauces, fresh veggies and solid Mexican restaurant staples! Tried this place when traveling through Madras and was really impressed with the quality of food and service.
The food was like a homemade mexican meal I had like a child growing up in California. It also included homemade flour and corn tortillas. The traditional chili relleno was perfectly cooked with a batter fried fresh chili. The meal was lightly spiced, not so over powering that you could not taste any of the other good flavors. The restaurant decor is very minimal, however do not let that stop you from dining there. I guarantee you will be quite pleased. Also one other note they accommodated my husband's food allergy being celiac. Although no designated fryer for chips so not gluten free, but no problem many other options and the portions are huge.
I ate dinner here, loved it so much ordered it for lunch before leaving Madras
The weirdest experience in my whole life … ever. I’m from the South. Like DiXiE … I guess it shows. So it’s New Years Eve. My wife and I stroll in at 5 pm. I ask … “are you open?” . I have no idea what the bartender said. He simply gestures we sit at a table. Once seated he placed two menus and said something else I didn’t understand. I look over the menu. I’m lost. He came back and said more things I didn’t understand. I pointed to a picture on the menu. He said with a huge smile. Spicy!!! I like spicy. In a few minutes he came back with a wooden plate and a giant black lava rock bowl with all kinds of meat , a cactus, a piece of what I guess is flat steak, a giant piece of chicken??? I don’t know. Only thing I recognize was the shrimp. It was absolutely amazing. The most delicious. And yes it was Spicy!!! 5 stars , two thumbs up!!! Thanks for everything. Happy New Year.
We love the owner..but for the love of God stop selling sopes with that terrible bread! It’s so gross, make it yourself so it’s crispy. And bring back the empanadas.
