***Best sushi/dining experience in Eugene! Taro is an artist and master of creating amazing gastric experiences - eating at Akira is not only beyond delicious but also a foody adventure! HIGHLY RECOMMEND - you will be doing yourself and your date a disservice if you miss this Eugene rare gem - Akira is truly the best sushi in town - YOU HAVE TO GO!!!!

No Reservations, No problem. Head upstairs, grab a drink from the incredibly talented Thor. And kick back and enjoy. Thor's knowledge of Japanese whiskey will make you feel like an expert when you leave. Grab a few appetizers and enjoy the amazing atmosphere. The smell of cedar from the building will set the palette and the amazing cuisine will finish you off. Enjoy your trip.

Best sushi I've ever had. The attention to detail and quality of the fish is unparalleled. Small and friendly atmosphere. You need reservations!

The food is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and upscale, but the best part is the very personable and talented sushi chef who not only makes amazing food but creates entertainment as well. Would highly recommend.

There is no better restaurant in Eugene, which is saying a lot in a college town full of wonderful and eclectic places to eat. Taro does an amazing and artful job with his sashimi and sushi, and the kitchen is amazing at preparing omnivore specials. Vegetarian/vegan options are also a work of art, prepared thoughtfully and most deliciously. I’d never not recommend this gem to anyone willing to spend good money for an unforgettable experience.
