Cafe Med Eugene

Walking up is a narrow doorway to the outside seating, and then you walk up to reception. We made a 7pm reservation and arrived about 10 early, as I noted. She offered to sit us at the bar or outside. I politely declined and the host accepted my reply. Right on the dot of 7pm we were seated at a nice, small corner table.

Lighting is great, not too dim, but well lit. Lively atmosphere and lots of chatter, so if you prefer quieter atmospheres, this may mot be the place during peak dinner times (although the outside seating was quieter, well insulated and heated). The dining area got substantially quieter when the adjacent corner table left.

Our server was very descriptive and super friendly (good energy).

Warm bread, balsamic and oil promptly placed after ordering 👌 As soon as the last piece was eaten, it was very quickly replaced and the server communicated on food status. Bonus points right there. Never having to ask for water- another pet peeve I didn't have to experience, not even once.

We ordered the Mahi Mahi (was originally halibut, server made a correction. Usually these changes have to do with sourcing and freshness). I ordered the linguini with clams and white wine sauce, it's one of my favorite type of dishes. Phenomenal balance of flavors. Large portions of fillet, not shy on the clams. The food is amazing and Eugene definitely needed a seafood based Italian restaurant. Bravo. I'm happy.

What a delightful addition to South Eugene. Finally Italian food in our town that's actually GOOD! Food was perfectly executed. Good wine list at realistic prices.
Could use a little work to make the atmosphere of the place a little warmer, but it's fine and it's still new. Excellent and attentive service. Prices on the higher side, but completely in line with the quality of the food.
We are just thrilled to have this little gem here. My only fear is that it's going to get so popular that it's going to be super hard to get a table.

Finally!! Real, authentic Italian cuisine in Eugene!! The flavors and the presentation of every dish I tried was extremely well done. I loved the ambiance as well. Perfect for date night or sharing a high quality meal with friends and family. The passion and energy of the owners and staff prove they infuse the love into the food they are serving. Bravissimo!

A pair of families that somehow magically came from Italy and reunited in little ol Eugene. Excellent service, food is top notch and of course they've got a great selection of wine but their mixed drinks shouldn't be ignored either 👍🍻. We'll be back! (Photos are lasagna and tiramisu)

Went here for lunch after many months of anticipating the new spot replacing Bruno's.

Chose the salmon and asparagus farfalle in a vodka sauce, as well as whatever their house red was along with the complementary bread, and everything was fantastic. Not much of a critic so not sure what else to comment on, but definitely met expectations both on taste and portion, so left satisfied.

Family that runs the place seems to have been in the area a while and were very friendly and enthusiastic about this venture so really want it to thrive. I look forward to trying the other options!
