Glenwood

I feel like Glenwood should be on lists of things to do when you’re visiting Eugene. It feels so quintessential and part of the town. Great food and unpretentious, the sort of place I’d be equally comfortable meeting for a working lunch or taking family out for dinner. I’ve always admired Glenwood for their huge menu and have spent years arriving hungry and leaving satisfied. Breakfast is always a highlight with a double side of thick-sliced bacon (my benchmark for great bacon is Glenwood), the Alder Street Special is a sandwich I dream about, and the wide variety of dinner entrees means there is something for everyone. Fast service, and I’ve never waited long for my food. Sometimes you’ll encounter a wait to be seated for brunch on the weekends, but it’s well worth it. Super modest price point, and an excellent value.

Been going here since I was a kid, always been a family favorite. Take my kids here now haha! Breakfast is amazing, that's what we usually go for but the lunch and dinner options are all good. Definitely something for everyone on their menu.

Normally we really like this place. This time the pancakes were chewy and the fruit compote seemed a bit..aged. The omelets were just ok. The coffee was really bitter and some of the staff seemed that they would rather be anywhere else. I hope they can bring the standards back up!

I've been taking advantage of their weeknight dinners to go. For (currently 2019) $17 they offer a complete dinner for 4 (2 adults and 2 children). If you get on their email list you get an email at the beginning of the week with what options will be available. Often there are vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, and gluten free options. The meals usually include either mixed greens or fruit and sometimes dessert. They're all packaged up and ready to take home.

I've found the food to be good. Some dishes better than others. Some are too bland for me, so I add sauces or spices, I assume they do this because the meals are also intended for children.

The convenience cannot be emphasized enough! The variety is fantastic.

The food is very good but limited selection. Great coffee. Healthy choices. Leans toward vegetarian cuisine. If you are a meat and potatoes kind of eater then you probably will be disappointed. You won't find, for example, country fried steak on the menu. Prices are reasonable. Very popular and busy place. Sometimes long waits.
