Newman's Fish Company

I love Newman's fish! They always fresh, and sell enough side items to make a whole dinner with. They also have absolutely superb smoked fishes!

We love this place. The shop is inside and has amazing fresh fish, incredible seafood, smoked salmon and smoked black cod, cheeses from all over the world, handmade pastas and sauces, chutneys and oils and aged vinegars, anchovy paste and salsa. The outside window is where you order fried fish. We usually get the halibut, fried with a cornmeal type breading, fries, and a soda or tea. There are a few tables outside, but in winter it's awesome if you can snag one of the three small tables inside the shop. They food comes wrapped in butcher paper in a brown paper dish. Works well. Total Eugene gem.

Good fish and chips! I had the salmon fish and chips and my companion had the coconut shrimp. Both were delicious. The clam chowder was good for comfort food on a cold day.

This is the best place around for fish and chips. The week prior to my visit to Newman's we went up and down the Oregon coast, and I had fish and chips at a few different locations ,as it is one of my favorites, but then I got home and had a better plate at Newman's... that is not the only thing on the menu that is great, the clam chowder is excellent as well, mostly because the clams are cooked perfectly..not rubbery at all. Delicious!

We had the shrimp and Cole slaw. (The cocktail sauce was a very good) and an order of scallops to share. (They were very fresh and so good) We dined outside with limited seating, we sat up to a bar style table. The line to order was long and it was a warm day. (They do offer an igloo style water tank of water with cups .. No charge) Lovely to see a few leashed dogs enjoying the family time. There's indoor eating/seating where they sell fresh seafood as well. A very popular place to eat!
