Chowder Bowl

Our trip out to the Oregon coast has been absolutely breathtaking! And having dinner in new port at Chowder bowl right near the ocean was amazing. We loved the clam chowder bread bowl and fish and chips and fish tacos! But what really blew this experience out of the water was our server, Sabrina! She gave the best service and was an amazing waitress. She was terrific with our kids, anticipated all our needs, and created the most friendly environment. She is the best waitress and really made Chowder Bowl a highlight of the already beautiful Oregon coast road trip!

Enjoyed their Captain's Fish and Chips. Very tasty. Thin batter and excellently fried. Oysters were lightly battered and grilled. So very fresh and delicious. We have really enjoyed their food the past few times we were in Newport visiting. If you order one of their salad bowls be prepared for a "light" meal that will fill you up!! Sabrina is an excellent server. Very delightful and friendly. Like the old photos of Newport. My husband was a young child when he lived in the Nye Beach area. He was so excited when he was looking at one of the photos of Nye Beach with the old skating rink because he found the house that he lived in as a child!! Brought back many wonderful memories for him.

lovely place! my family and I had to wait a while to get our food, but there were a lot of people already, which must mean the food is good; and it was!!
I ordered dill crusted sockeye salmon which came with chips & a cup of chowder. I also ordered garlic onion cheese bread along with it.
It was fantastic! next time I come to Oregon, I'm definitely going to this place again. It cost $72 for us four and we gave a $20 tip.
I definitely recommend this place for seafood lovers or just anybody craving seafood while they're in Newport.

Great service, friendly and attentive. Chowder is very good, plenty of clams and a silky base. Fried oysters were delicious. We sat on the patio and our heater was out, that is the reason for 4 out of 5. Our server was awesome, she tried to address it, but all the tanks were empty. She was so personable, efficient and really put our experience over the top. Highly recommend this spot.

I have eaten at a lot of restaurants, including seafood places on the coast. But this is the first time I have ever been compelled to write a review.
It’s that dang good.

Chowder Bowl got us a table very quickly despite being busy, and we had waited all but five minutes after ordering before our food arrived. And speaking of food, the fish and chips were the best ones I have ever had, and the chowder was delectable. My girlfriend, who does not normally eat fish or tarter sauce, cleared her plate happily. Bottomless drinks, friendly service, great food.

Do yourself a favor, don’t spend an hour waiting for one of the big chain restaurants like Mo’s, Newport’s Chowder Bowl is the place to go.
