A favorite getaway! No phones, no TV, no wifi. Just a cozy oceanfront place to curl up with a book....or 10. Fantastic food served family style for dinner, nice breakfast comes with the room. 10 out of 10!
Beautiful old-school hotel right on the beach. The owner could not be nicer. I suggest you visit, Newport is always a cool place to hang out
This place is a gem! It is on the beach, the staff are beyond friendly, and the hotel is one of the most charming places I have ever stayed in. Throw your electronics aside, relax, and sleep in your favorite author's room! I had the pleasure of staying in the Mark Twain room and it was inviting, comfy, and oh so cozy!
Also, make sure to get reservations at the Table of Contents restaurant at the hotel! You'll regret it if you don't do it! Every food course was a dance on the taste buds!!
A fabulous place - great for readers and artists, with a wonderful chef for both their breakfasts and four course dinners. I love that there are books everywhere and hot spiced wine at 8:30 nightly next to a fire in the library. I particularly love the "no televisions, leave your iPhone and gadgets behind" concept behind the place. It is by far my favorite place on the coast and I would not think of staying anywhere else now that I've visited. A great place to TRULY get away, get hypnotized by the Pacific, and enjoy quiet reflection and contemplation. Curl up on the sofa or a big cushy chair and enjoy your favorite author with a cup of coffee and soak in the silence, of which there seems precious little these days.
We had a phenomenal one-night stay in the Fitzgerald room and can't recommend this charming hotel enough. There is so much thoughtful detail in each room here, and they leave unoccupied rooms open for guests to look at so be sure to explore! The library is gorgeous and cozy, with a fireplace, blankets, books galore, puzzles, etc. Don't pass up the opportunity to have dinner in the Tables of Content dining room downstairs; the chef is fantastic and the dessert (we had a dark chocolate mousse) was heavenly. No picture could do this lovely location justice.
