The Depot Restaurant

We stopped by on a whim one Saturday. We were greeted pleasantly and served quickly even though the restaurant was packed. The fried mushrooms were perfect and the fish had just the right crisp to the breading. We will be stopping by again for sure!

I had the medium captain platter. The shrimp were great. I thought the fish was stringy. My husband thought the fish was great. I also thought the oyster had too much breading. I've always liked the atmosphere at the depot and our waitress was great

Always fresh fish. Homemade fries to die for. Great shrimp salad tucked away in the middle . We always order fish and chips Quick service. We go there on special occasions from Independence or. We used to waite in line until they had room to seat us. They have since changed the opening hours from 4:00 pm to 11:00 am. Try it you will see what I'm mean.

Huge portions here. The "small" shrimp salads have a massive amount of shrimp. The fried foods are all delicious. Everything is fresh tasting. You can find plenty of healthy options here in addition to the traditional fried fish and chips and other fried foods. We've never had to wait for a table and the staff are always friendly. The decor is of course nautical themed. It's a fun casual dining spot.

Service was friendly, attentive, accurate, drink refill prompt. Ask for water if you want it.
Booths small and somewhat uncomfortable( depending on size/flexibility/age)- Difficult booth entry and exit. Only one table available - limited for larger group. Some individual stool seats available at small counter.
Parking lot entry/exit not bad if you know where your going.
Price a little high but likely average for current market.
I would order from here for take away next time.
