Food is good but very greasy. Sometimes a bit over cooked and meat is too crispy instead of moist/fall apart like smoked pork should be like. Sometimes my sandwhiches are better then other days. Not sure if it's a change in cooks or what. Overall seems like they need to up their game. Food kinda makes me ill feeling afterwards since it's dripping grease. I feel like they use to be better a few years ago. There customer service is fantastic tho. All of their employees are super nice and willing to help. I hate saying that about the food. Sometimes u want something messy and greasy so it works. I will still go back once in a blue mood.
Stopped in mid-afternoon. The counter server was very nice and helpful about the menu. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the 1/3 rack of ribs. When we got the tray, he said "WOW!" because it was a nice portion of ribs, side of slaw, fries, and Texas toast. He raved about the flavor of the ribs. My sandwich was generously filled and the pea salad (thanks for something different than cole slaw!) was really good. No frills, small tables or a larger one in the bar area that could be shared or for a larger group. TV's allow catching up on sports while you eat. Happy to find this place in EASY walking distance to the capital.
Great Pulled Pork sandwich. Pork had just the right amount of pork and smoke flavor. The bun was very soft and airy. Yes "airy" is a word. The crust of the bun held up well to the pork and sauce. Side of Poquito beans was very good.
I took my family there this evening and we had an excellent dinner! We had the tri-tip steak, the St. Louis barbecue ribs, the 1/3 lb. cheeseburger, and the kid's rib basket. All were quite delicious and cooked to perfection! It's worth a visit for a great meal at reasonable prices.
Great brisket, great hush puppies. Our first time at this location, but we've enjoyed Adam's for years. My wife and I both got the brisket grilled cheese sandwich (without the bacon jam). It was a great little sandwich. Would highly recommend this place.
