An excellent location and such a superb brisket nacho plate. I can't wait to try their different menu items. Try it out and be amazed! A very classy place too.

Tasty food and great prices. The chicken fried steak was good but a bit chewy. The potatoes were nice and crispy and had onion and peppers mixed in. The over easy eggs were cooked to perfection.

Having lived in Salem for 20 years, it's exciting to find a new great restaurant, as there are not that many to choose from.
This is the best breakfast in town that my husband and I have found and best corned beef--made on site. The corned beef and cabbage and potato hash is fantastic--best hash I've ever had. Not at all greasy. The breakfast burrito is delicious. Really big portions. Most of their business is weekday lunches, so a much quieter spot for breakfast than most. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Can't wait to try their Rueben for lunch.

Black Sheep Cafe is amazing! We have always loved all their food! (Especially the Rubens) we hired them to cater our wedding and even had our rehearsal dinner at their cafe. Jenn and Andrew are so awesome! They responded to my emails in a timely fashion and always made sure we were happy with the menus! They were so great to work with and we will definitely be back to eat all the time!

I have seen this this cafe near my work for a few weeks now and decided I would try it today.

When I entered I could tell it had a vibe I have come to relate to local Oregon businesses, a open, fresh, and inviting feel. I was quickly greeted by a friendly young man in a casual but sharp outfit that perfectly fit the vibe of the cafe.

I was seated and brought ice water while given a chance to look over the menu. Upon his return a few minutes later I inquired what he would suggest from the menu, he offer a handful of good choices but caught my attention when he suggested the Black Sheep Patty Melt.

Having decided on that, I took a minute to use the facilities, though I normally will omit this part of a review the perfection of the cleanliness in the restroom is worth noting. I have only been impressed by this on a few rare occasions in restaurants I have eaten in.

I returned to my seat as my meal was coming out of the kitchen. The patty melt was beautifully made, though the patty itself was cooked closer to a medium rare then the medium I ordered, thus I can not give the full five stars I wish I could. It was nonetheless excellent in both flavor and portion size. I made it out the door with less than a $15 bill including the tip, and a very satisfied lunch experience.

I look forward to returning to try their ribs which, I have been assured by a patron that overheard my request for suggestion, are one of the best in Salem. Hopefully I will be able to raise my review to a full five stars with my next visit.
