Best chicken parm I've had in a very long time! Friendly, personable service. Minimal wait for tables, great diversity in the menu as long as you're into sandwiches! This is a fabulous place for lunch, we will be back for sure! We were told they have a weekend brunch that I'm excited to sample! Sorry the pictures are only of empty plates... After the first bite, I didn't put my sandwich down until it was gone...
Our first time at Sal’s was on a Saturday afternoon, about 2 weeks ago. He was our server and was also doing the food preparation, with a little help from someone else in the kitchen. Despite this small staff of two, our food came out in a decent amount of time. I had a delicious hot pastrami sandwich with a cup of excellent tomato bisque soup. My wife enjoyed a generous salad with house made dressing . Our granddaughter consumed her wrap in record time. Everything was fresh and tasty- my sandwich was huge and incredibly good. We look forward to our next meal at Sal’s, perhaps on a night when live entertainment is featured.
Best kept secret in town! I have lived in Salem my whole life and had no idea pastrami could be this good outside of NY city. Great deli menu, full bar, easy and relaxed vibe. I definitely plan to make Sal’s my regular place. Plus jazz every other Wednesday?! I have been missing out, and if you haven’t been yet, you are too.
We were here earlier between the hours of 1 to 2pm, i was the tall British ginger guy with my wife. :P
This place is truly an hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious, the sandwich i had was very fresh and the mayonnaise on it was perfect, I'm not usually a mayonnaise guy but the mayonnaise on my sandwich was awesome.
The mushroom soup i had was the best mushroom soup i have ever had in Salem.
Our server Aaron (I'm not good at remembering names but i think that was his name) was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome and warm to be here so we were extremely happy with the service.
We would recommend Sal’s Deli & Bistro to everyone reading this review right now.
Had the bagel and lox while there, and ordered the pastrami to go. This place is a delicious hidden gem! The bagel and lox were yummy and fresh and the service was very friendly and attentive. I’m excited to try my sandwich at lunch! Don’t pass this place up! It’s tucked in Pringle park plaza right behind Marco Polo’s. Can’t wait to go there again!
