The wife and I were looking for some Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and came across this restaurant on Google. This place didn't disappoint it was so delicious. Plus the atmosphere was very great! Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the PDX area!
I had only ever been here for the huge bowl of dandan fries (delicious!), and last night I finally went back and tried the tofu sandwich. The portion was well worth the price, but I found the sandwich to be lacking overall. The tofu, while wonderfully crispy, could have used more seasoning--it was basically just tofu flavor with a crispy shell. Not bad, but not particularly exciting or memorable and could have been salvaged had the coleslaw not also been lacking--it was neither crunchy nor tangy enough to tie the whole thing together. (Yes, I realize this is on me for not eating chicken at a place famous for fried chicken, but the fried chicken sandwich also got an "OK" review from my partner). Overall, it was a completely decent meal and a good value if you're looking for lots of food at a reasonable price, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return for anything other than the dandan fries.
Really liked the batter; crispy and flavorful. The actual chicken wasn't very substantial, however. Price at $9 was pretty fair. Overall, would definitely recommend. Fries were awesome and crispy too.
The chicken sandwich blew me away. It was moist, flavorful and perfectly balanced with the pickles, coleslaw and bun. I was stuffed after half the sandwich, but ate the rest because it was delicious. It was very filling even with a voracious appetite.
Okay. I didn’t think it was normal for a human woman to be in love with a salad, but I’d marry the fried chicken salad in international waters tomorrow. This salad is more satisfying than a man! (The Dan Dan fries are my second favorite and also better than most people I’ve met).
