Awesome spot w/ authentic Jam-down food. Curried chicken, curried goat, jerk chicken, rice and peas... it was all tasty. Can't wait for summer to hang outside in the garden tables and eat our way through the menu!
This place is a hidden gem in Portland. Having had experience with ‘authentic’ Jamaican food, I can say this is IT. The owner/master chef could not be more friendly or excited to share his amazing food. Delicious and a must try!!!!
This place was fantastic! The food was amazing, the vibe was just incredibly chill and super welcoming, and the owner and cook, Simba, may be the sweetest, raddest dude I've ever encountered in a dining establishment.
I had never had ox tail before but felt compelled to order it after seeing someone pick up a to go order of the stuff and oooooh man - it was absolutely one of favorite simple meat dishes I've ever had. Apparently it's way easy to do it completely wrong and everything about this was just super, super right. I'd imagine it's ridiculously good for you too since there's a lot of cartilage and dense connective tissue in it, and every bit was edible and cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection.
I can't wait to go back for another visit and try the rest of the menu!
Great authentic flavors! I haven't had jerk chicken and coco break as delicious as this since I was in Jamaica. Other reviews say portions were small, I think the pic below shows they're appropriately proportioned for one meal. Great ambiance, energy, and positivity at this spot. Don't expect anything fancy, it's cafe style and laid back. Don't miss out on this!
Amazing food, great serving sizes, delicious and flavorful. I had the curried goat and my partner had the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was smokey and full of flavor served with rice and cabbage which were also amazing. The curried goat was fall off the bone tender. I highly recommend this place for wonderful Jamaican cuisine.
