Nice dark dive with a good patio and generous whiskey pours, good jukebox too

Food was great. The salad portion is delightfully full. I had a special request not listed on the menu as an option and they were nothing but willing to do what I had requested. I was there just before a shift change; all of the employees I met we're really sweet and personable.

I should have written this a long time ago because Lay Low is awesome and Sally is even more awesome.

Definitely a low key neighborhood bar but I prefer quality and consistency over bells and whistles. Veggie burger is okay but breakfast sandwiches are stupid cheap and AMAZING. Build your own burger is killer and so is the caesar salad.

Most importantly, I can't stress how great the staff is. Sally is the only bartender I've run into and honestly she's all I need. On top of quick, accurate service, I appreciate that Lay Low takes the time to really exemplify what inclusive service and a welcoming diverse environment really look like. Love the sign that says everyone is welcome and safe, but they really back that up. I overheard Sally tonight tell a patron in the sweetest, most respectful way that "we don't say things like that here" when he made a (hopefully unintentional) off color comment about race. There aren't enough stars in the world for how well that was handled, especially with how great everything else is.
