(November 30, 2019, 6:48 pm)The owner came over and showed me how to mix and eat my soup the proper way. He told me the sauce, composed of 16 separate ingredients, was painstakingly simmered for 3 hours. It was a wonderful experience and exceptionally delicious, I'm glad he cared enough about our experience and his food to ensure we maximized our enjoyment.

(November 20, 2019, 5:50 am)Rose VL deli is simply incredible. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Portland and that is saying a lot. Everyday the selection of soups changes, and each one is worth trying. It's no wonder that they have won 3 James Beard awards in a row. The people who work here are very friendly and are always checking in with you to make sure you are enjoying everything. I can't recommend this place enough.

(November 15, 2019, 5:55 am)This place is a jewel. Different soups every day. Check their insta for today’s. Run by the sweetest couple ever. The spicy chicken red curry soup on Thursdays is SPICY. Their Vietnamese coffee is also excellent.
