The tamale plate is simply delicious! The tamales are not what you are normally used to, these are made with being covered in banana leaf, similar to what the Hawaiians do with their cooking, the result is a delicious and moist tamale unlike the Mexican tamale with can be and almost is dry because of corn husk covering. If you are looking for something different to enrich your palate, this is the place.
The people are friendly and the food is always great. The tamales are hand made
A lovely gem of a place located in a gas station lot. I will go and work through the menu. The reviews sound so good on the jalapeno and cheese tamales so even though i do not eat jalapenos, i am going to have to give this one a try. Lovely woman took my order.Wow! The traditional Mexican (corn husk) tamales were great. We had beef, pork and jalapeño/cheese. All were as good as I had hoped. The prices were good.
This place is a hidden little gem. Love the tamales, probably will get to go not much seating. The owner was super friendly and it was a great experience. Probably my favorite little stand in Salem.I ordered the vegetable tamale plate (2 tamales, black beans, cilantro ride, sour cream, green salsa, and cheese) and two jalapeno cheese tamales on the side. I'm so excited that they have vegetarian tamales!
I have worked across the corner from this little stand for more than 9 months. It's very easy to miss, but whatever you do, don't miss out on this amazing little food stand. These are hands down the best tamales I have ever had. Absolutely perfect, and the service was incredibly friendly. I will certainly be back soon and if you haven't already been, go asap.
