Cool western spot, amazing breakfast and Why hasn’t anyone ever told be about the potato cake?!!! Didn’t even know it existed but it was the best thing ever! It was huge and filled with bacon 🥓 😋 great price! Also biscuits and gravy so delicioso! Love the fact that you order as you come in and take a look at the menu on a board, then they seat you, smart and great time saver! I’ve already recommend this gem💎!
The waitress was very helpful and checked on us frequently.
We ordered when we walked in instead of when sitting.
Dusty spurs on the wall definitely fit the rustic atmosphere.
Got lunch here on the way through town. Super nice staff - I told them we were driving through and they gave me a free coffee to go!
The Fred sandwich was delicious and had tons of high quality cold cuts. Will be back if I’m ever in the area
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Yummy good diner breakfast; just like grandma made it. We had an order of chicken fried steak and an order of the golden crepes with huckleberry. Delicious!!
2/5 star experience ⭐️⭐️
I came here Sunday morning before church for a quick bite to eat expecting a very pleasant and cozy small town diner experience, but that expectation left as soon as I walked in the door.
I found the menus attached to a board just inside the entrance where the hostess would typically seat you. However, here you have to stand and walk about while browsing the menus. It wasn’t busy while I was here, but I’d assume it would be rather chaotic if another party came in at the same time as me considering the hostess/waitress was watching and waiting for me to decide. I chose to order the Mt. Emily (Eggs Benedict with substitute thick ham & topped with tomato slices).
The food came out SUSPICIOUSLY fast, especially for a complicated dish like Eggs Benedict. The ham was thick and full of cartilage. The tomatoes watered down and took away from the rich flavor and centerpiece of the dish; the fresh hollandaise sauce. Even though I’m certain everything was freshly made and ready to be assembled, its speed was concerning.
About halfway through the dish I felt ill. I figured it was the thick slice of ham since I hardly eat any pork. I removed the ham hoping that not only would it make me feel better, but that it would also let me better taste the hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately the tomatoes still stepped on the sauce’s flavor.
By the time I was nearly done with the dish I knew something was wrong, but assumed it was because I ate so much so fast. I paid my bill and left. Once I walked a block and a half to my truck I felt like I was going to vomit. Not knowing this town and what gas station would be closest to get sick in I ran back into the Dusty Spur Cafe’s restroom where I threw up the meal. On my way out I stopped by the counter where I checked out to let them know that I got sick after eating the food. I added an extra star to this review because both a cook and a hostess heard my complaint and were IMMEDIATELY incredibly concerned, and the cook ran into the back. This showed me that whatever happened to me was a genuine accident, and that the staff seriously cares about what they serve. Shockingly I would have given four starts after all this if they had given me my money back, but sadly I still had to pay for a meal that I left in the toilet.
