We loved this cute spot and the breakfast is amazing! Only issue we had was the heater in our room was very difficult to turn on (radiator), almost as is if it was stuck but we were warm enough all night during a snow storm so it wasn't a big deal. We would definitely stay here again and have breakfast here!
A small boutique hotel with a
restaurant in La Grande that
offers a good location to nearby attractions such as
the Eagle Cap Train in Elgin.
I reserved a single queen
room with a private bathroom on the second floor with air conditioning.
The room assigned was number four at the end of
the hallway and had a
nightstand and lamp, a
table with a chair, a chair
in the corner and a TV
with cable mounted on the wall.
I did not find a place to put
my clothes away and there
was no dresser in the room.
The hotel is in an old house and there is no lobby to
check-in and has a
keyless entry system.
The first floor has one
guest room and a library
with a sitting room in the middle of the restaurant.
A railroad runs on the back
of the hotel and is on a
very busy street with a lot
of noise throughout the night.
A nice breakfast is offered
with waffle and basic breakfast options and dinner is provided
by Merylyn's Catering with a gourmet menu.
Located in downtown La Grande on Adams Street across from The Local.
It can be difficult to sleep
with the sound of the
trains, and the busy traffic noise on Adams
Street.
The Landing is a nice place
to stay in La Grande with
free WIFI, a second floor
balcony to relax, a small
hotel vibe, and a restaurant
that offers breakfast and
dinner.
My stay here was absolutely fabulous! This was my second work trip to La Grande and if I'm ever back I will absolutely stay here again. Much better than the other hotel options in town.
The bed was extremely comfortable! The location cannot be beat - you can walk to all the fun places! The shower worked super well. I loved the provided noise machine for sleeping - I never had any issues with it being too noisy to sleep. It was a bit difficult to maintain a cool enough temperature for myself for sleeping but I was also there during a very warm spell! I do not hold that against them at all. Check in and check out were a breeze - it does feel a bit odd going into a restaurant to get to your room but you're in the right place! On top of all of that the complimentary wine in the afternoons was greatly appreciated. I also highly recommend checking out the local across the street (owned by the same people) - they have great breakfast options and a wonderful patio to sit at.
Merlin and his wife took an eyesore out of La Grande and turned it into one of the most glorious restaurants. Me and my wife went to the other day and had breakfast and it was very delightful sitting out front on the porch and the prices are absolutely reasonable for everything going on in the United States with the inflation you can actually sit down and have a marvelous meal without breaking the pocketbook. Congratulations Merlin on an awesome restaurant.
I went here for dinner and the waitress was super friendly and the place itself is super cute! I love the decor and overall atmosphere. The food, however, unfortunately took a very long time to come out and was not my favorite food either. Our waitress was amazing with keeping us updated on the status of the food, but waiting about 1.5 hours for food is just a little too long for me personally, especially when it's not very great and very pricey too.
