My son and I went in for Breakfast. Having fond memories of the 1970's & 80"s Big Red's, I was wanting the chicken fried steak and eggs with the memorable gravy. So very disappointing. I asked for poached eggs and they were so over cooked that the yoke was solid and my steak and gravy were cold. My son was served a very flat coke.
The reason why I'm giving a 3 star rating and not 1 is that the service was very good (the place was also quite empty, that was also a bad sign). Our waitress was very apologetic and prompt in resolving our issues. And My son had a burger which he says was pretty good but the fries were cold. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place nor will we be back.
This is a review based on their breakfast items.
Red's has the best bacon I've ever had in my life. The coffee is great, but I'm not a picky coffee drinker. I usually get an omelette and they aren't stingy with the meat - in the chicken fajita or Denver omelettes. Pancakes are good with lots of butter, and the French toast and waffles are delicious too. They come out a little bit crispy. Be daring and ask them to put some strawberries on it. This isn't IHOP levels of customization but I think it's better food. They offer 4-5 different jams/jellies with toast - that's a nice touch.
Staff is nice, they are attentive to when you need something but leave you alone otherwise.
I'm giving this 4 stars only because of the service. My waitress was bubbly, happy, and very accommodating. Had it not been for the superior service, I would have given 2 stars. The food was mediocre at best. I will give it another try some time in the future hoping that today was an off day for the cook...
Amazing atmosphere! We went on a Friday night and it was pretty packed. A guest who was leaving offered his table to us, so that was very nice! There's two pool tables that we definitely took advantage of, there's a jukebox, and there's a barrel full of peanuts available to everyone. All of the staff were extremely kind, and the food hit the spot. We hope to visit again soon!
