Pretty good, yet also very noticeably not as delicious as the L&Ls I ate at in Kona. It's a chain, right? They should all be using the same ingredients in order to replicate the product quality and customer experience as close to identically at every establishment, right? What's going on here?
In particular something was different about the spices and consistency of the fried shrimp. I'm no chef, I can't pin it down but it was most definitely tastier in Kona than it is here.
I don't think it's a perceptual issue of food tasting better on vacation either, I distinctly remember the shrimp having a uniquely better flavor profile and mouthfeel in Hawaii. I guess that's their home turf though, maybe they have better access to fresh seafood there or something.
I am in love with the mixed BBQ plate special. I rave about L&L to my friends, many of whom I take along with me. It is my favorite comfort food. Have been to other locations around Oregon, California and Hawaii but this one beats the rest!
Love this place! My favorite dish by far is the chicken katsu, which is crispy fried chicken served over rice with a ginger based green curry sauce. Some people might call it spicy but it doesn't even register as spicy to me. It's best eaten right after ordering, or the chicken crispiness will absorb the curry sauce and become soggy. The restaurant itself is small, there are only about 4 tables in the restaurant itself but the food makes up for it.
NOTHING like Hawaii. Macaroni salad is so terrible. Dried bbq mix. Wanted to try it out, but I can make better garlic shrimp. So sad.
Fast food Hawaiian plate lunch.
I thought it was really very good. Probably my second favorite plate lunch in Beaverton.
Everything comes in styrofoam.
There are 4 tables and one bar for inside seating, so it's rather small. More seating outside and in the mall itself.
