Not the cheapest (and also not actually a cafe) Al's is always a good dining experience, unless maybe you dislike seeing trophy fish all over the walls. They have a big menu with sandwiches, pizza, fancy pasta with chicken or seafood, steaks, milkshakes, and drinks from the bar. They have multiple rooms for parties of different sizes if you want to have a party too. If you don't mind entrees in the $15-20 range it's a good place for romantic, family, or even business lunches and dinners.
We went here for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place is a great size. A big turnoff was when we walked in it. Was extremely hot like there was no air conditioning. I ordered a steak rare knowing it. Would come medium rare...it. came medium. My mother in law who is gluten free found that the gluten free menu was one of the best in the area. The price was decent dinner for two and tip was 47 bucks. Service was ok. Not sure I would go here again.
The food is decent, but it won't blow your mind. Staff was friendly and efficient. The place felt like the a/c wasn't working, but was told it is always like that on real hot days. When asked for more cucumber for a salad the waitress brought over a plate with 2 thin slices of cucumber. That was hysterical and disappointing. I am going with 3 stars because it's a nice looking place, the staff was nice and the food was decent. In all honesty it's not a place I would frequent again anytime soon.
