Had incredible meal at Fairlane last night during restaurant week! Grilled watermelon salad (a first for me), chicken confit and berry tart... the meal was fantastic. Love the vibe and decor in this restaurant. Bartender, Trevor, is very skilled at his profession. Can't wait to return. Only suggestion would love to see the menu expanded a bit with more sandwich and salad options that would make me come every week as opposed to once or twice a month.
One of the best biscuits and jam I've ever had. The Biscuit Benedict was very good.
The atmosphere was nice but everything else during our visit was off. Our waitress had to keep apologizing for imperfections do to being busy. Honestly, it did not seem that busy to us. I ordered the fish and it was sold out since they would be closed for a few days. The other items we ordered were great. My husband loved the burger. I ended up ordering several small plates my favorite was the falafel with the pickled plate.
Food is average to disappointing. I could not honestly recommend any dish to a friend. I’ve tried to like it thinking I just ordered the wrong thing but feel overcharged and underwhelmed every time I go. Chicken liver mousse ruined by cold toasted bread. Barely enough to taste. Coconut curry noodles tasted “off”. Wings were excellent and unique - will give them that. Bartenders saved the experience - very knowledgeable and experienced. No salads to speak of and unwilling to make the simplest substitution as if everything was so carefully orchestrated they couldn’t compromise. Wish that were the case. Done trying to like them.
We love this place it’s close to home and we love the creativity in drinks. The Brussels sprouts with bonito and scallions were a hit with us. Monday night is fried chicken night. And of course we had to try it (also, the soft shell crab sandwich was on special and really tasty) we feel like for the price point they give you way larger portions than other restaurants of their caliber.
