The outdoor seating area, near the pond is lovely; however, several times seating is not allowed due to different reasons.
One reason given is it has been reserved for a large group. That would seem to be a fib, as no large group appeared during our 2 plus hours stay for dinner.
Service was painfully slow and beverages were not delivered to our table for 20 minutes or so.
Food is not appetizing, especially the meat loaf.
This is such a pleasing architectural property, but such a shame as these problems mentioned, removes a desire to re-visit
This restaurant is a classy restaurant with good quality menu options . I like that you can dress up and sit in the dining room, or go a little more casual and sit on the patio or bar area. I think that the food is great quality, but maybe a tad pricey for some options. I did like the dinner and drink menu, the atmosphere, and the history of the restaurant cards they have on the table. I'll go back for sure, and hope to enjoy the patio, lights and music next time!
Excellent food. Great service. Lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a family birthday celebration.
The Pines Tavern is a wonderful place to visit for lunch or dinner. The menu has a wide selection for all pallets and taste buds. The interior is also matched by the extensive outdoor patio seating area which features a babbling brook and wonderful lighting with quaint tables. Entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights further enhances the experience. The short drive from downtown Pittsburgh makes this a spot you don't want to miss.
Excellent lunch with friends! Wonderful menu selections for all palates. We shared the fried zucchini, which was great. Crispy, not greasy with a nice marinara on the side. I have the blackened fish tacos which were very fresh and spicy. Sweet potato fries were a perfect accompaniment. Others at the table had entree salads which were excellent as well as the chicken pot pie filled with lots of breast meat. Pies and billionaires bar for dessert. All plenty big to share. Service was perfect, very attentive but not annoying so. Will be back soon!
