We get sushi burritos from this place a lot and it's always really good!

Delicious! The food was excellent, much better than I was expecting. Prices were very reasonable, and the staff were very helpful. We got ours to go, but the restaurant was tidy and clean. Will definitely be back!

    Update March 2021:
Unfortunately, due to a supply issue, the ginger dressing (which used to be outstanding!) has been changed to a different recipe. It tastes like a vinaigrette dressing with a lot more oily taste than before. It pales in comparison to its former self - not a good change.

    Update December 2020:
Visit #2: Asked for ponzu sauce which is now labeled in a cup with non-water proof (maybe non food safe?) labels. They put the sauce into the box directly next to and facing/touching the sushi roll. This caused the label to begin to dissolve onto the food. I had to pick paper and adhesive off the roll before eating it! 😝

Visit#1: I placed an order online with a request for ponzu sauce with my roll. Instead, I got poké sauce. With years of experience as a professional chef, I'm 100% sure of what type of sauce I got. I have used both sauces in the past and know the difference. Can you spot the difference in the photo I posted? The employees here are unable to see the difference between ponzu, which is clear but dark, and poké sauce, which is cloudy with spices and dark. The person I spoke to insisted the mistake was mine. That employee was mistaken. The proof is in the photo.

Update: Order accuracy has improved, but I wouldn't consider them to be a particularly friendly group of people who provide professional customer service.

    Update Fall 2020:
Unapologetic nastiness in regards to service, that's all I can say about Atarashi Sushi. Customer service has taken a terrible dive, coronavirus conditions notwithstanding, send Sushi fuku disappeared and this business took its place. It is sad to see that the new employees do not value customer service whatsoever. They screw up your order, not once but five times, and they don't even apologize for the mistake. They don't offer any kind of fix for the problem, and they come across as very self-righteous about any error. The quality of the food is still good, but the service is rotten.

Update for Fall 2019: No longer available: Tamago and Miso Mayo, but now available are Hijiki and several other new items for your roll or bowl. The ingredients are always fresh and whether you roll it or bowl it, you'll have a good meal with clean ingredients.

I went here all the time when it was formerly sushi Fuku, I haven’t been here quite recently, but I thought I’d leave a review. The volcano bowl is where it’s at. It includes three seafood items: crab, salmon, and tuna for about $10. I don’t think you can find better prices for great sushi really anywhere else in Pittsburgh or even Pennsylvania as a whole. I’ve only had good experiences here and enjoyed the food every time. I took a star away only because I don’t find this to be high quality top tier sushi compared to some other amazing places I’ve been to, but it’s great nonetheless. Also by being located on Pitts campus it mainly draws students and is fast-food style (not sit down order) aka more of a grab sushi and go location.
