LuLu’s was so great.

Service and atmosphere: We came with a very hungry toddler and they were prompt to get her order in and out quickly and even snuck in a popcicle on the way out. Black owned and LGBT friendly, the space is small (they are looking to upgrade) but with a modern and nice atmosphere. It’s just the couple running the whole show, so it took about 20 min to receive our food which is expected.

Food: For $40 we got two entrees and a side (grits with fried fish, Nashville hot chicken, Mac and cheese), and the portions were enough for another meal of leftovers. The taste was spot on, though they don’t have some soul classics like collards or ribs. Menu is exhaustive despite the omissions. Another review mentioned not knowing what fish they ordered, maybe they updated the menu but it was clearly communicated the options. No specific kids menu but the portions are large enough to share. Can’t wait for them to be more established and have a fancy menu to match their vibe!

Anyone who doesn’t like this place is trying to compare it to something it’s not. It’s a must go, can’t wait to try their food again.

Very very good for a newer restaurant. I ordered fish & grits, hubby ordered chicken and churro waffles. My meal was extraordinary. It would help if the menu identified the type of fish. It was whiting and well cooked. The grits were creamy & cheesy, a splash of tomato relish added a tangy twist. The chicken was fried hard and the tender waffle was dusted with cinnamon sugar & sprinkled with blueberries. Delicious! Service was friendly and the decor is minimalist modern.

What this place lacks in size it definitely makes up for in character and taste. The color scheme and personal photos on the wall really gave this resultant a comfortable atmosphere. Service was great, and the food was even better. Everything was hot and fresh and seasoned perfectly, I didn’t even need to touch a salt shaker! I will definitely be back again. The Crab dip and sea food grits are a must!

First of all I love the decor ! The ambiance is amazing and so are the owners and staff! Second the food was superb, I had the crab fries 🦀 🍟 and the honey jerk chicken 🍗 🍯 again it was amazing. But it’s the Black Excellence for me ✊🏾✨

LuLu’s Soulful Finesse !!!! Best spot in the Burg (Pittsburgh/Wilkinsburg)! A neighborhood Gem!! I’m amazed with the menu and highly satisfied every time I dine in or out, they never disappoint! The food is delicious, the owner and staff are very professional, helpful and friendly, love the ambiance! I definitely can see LuLu’s Soulful Finesse staying for the long run! I can’t wait to see the growth and future expansion !! If you’re not from the area it’s a must that you go and experience this food! Absolutely I’m love ❤️
