Best BBQ in Pittsburgh. Hands down. I tried the ribs, wings, green beans, mac and cheese, baked beans, yams and cornbread. We arrived just before they opened, and there was already a line forming by the door. We waited about 15+ min. but forgot all about the wait as soon as we tasted the food. Everything was delicious, especially the sauce!
Clearly my review is for the food they serve. It felt so tasty, juicy, and hot. I am giving it 5 star for their service and love in cooking the bbq. It's real coal fired bbq. It looked awesome, staff were super friendly, and tasted so delicious. I recommend this place and would go back again. I would love for them to have to maintain clean surroundings to eat at their place.
As we waited in line, the person before me ordered (you stand in line, place your order where workers fill to go containers with your order, you pay and you're on your way although there is seating outside). The worker, without a word left behind the counter to grab more containers (there were still more containers where she could've finished the customer's order first) leaving at least me, so I'm sure the person she was waiting on, questioning what was happening. As that was going on, although I was next in line, another worker behind the counter took the order of the customer after me. I eventually had my order placed and checked out fine. I had a pulled pork sandwich, Mac & cheese, red beans and rice and cornbread. All was good but the pork was very salty and the bread was 2 pieces of white Texas toast instead of a bun-type bread to be able to handle picking up the sandwich. I ate with a fork instead which worked fine. They also serve wings, brisket, ribs and other sides which looked delicious. I also have to add that while I sat outside to eat, a homeowner across the street yelled to a customer enjoying his lunch to get his legally parked van off his Street which I'm sure he didn't own. The homeowner kept his car alarm going off until the customer moved his van which he did. The homeowner then proceeded to block the street with his car so watch out for that or take your food to go.
The best BBQ in Pittsburgh, hands down. I've walked out with my third choice off the menu (go early before they run out of stuff) and I still haven't had anything less than amazing.
My partner and I always drive by on calls and it smells amazing every time. Today we finally got a chance to stop, I got chicken and she got brisket. We shared the food because it all looked and smelled so good we couldn’t decide. I think I prefer the brisket, it was so tender and the sauce was perfect combination of smoked and sweet. Wings were a little small but that just means you gotta order more. 10/10 will be going back again!
