Really unique choices. Very reasonable for business lunch. Great location in downtown pgh.
My server was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a delicious fresh interesting meal and was able to tip generously all for a total of $40. Try Talia Cucina. You won't be disappointed :-)
We were pleasantly surprised. The decor is simple, and it looks like it might be more of a lunch spot. But excellent service, good wines by the bottle and glass and stellar cooking really took it into five star territory. Roast chicken sounds simple, but it hard to do well. Roast porchetta was awesome, but the biggest surprise was grilled artichokes with white bean hummus.
Amazing little restaurant on the corner by Hotel Monaco and William Penn. Visited night before the marathon and used OpenTable to make reservations. The octopus appetizer was delicious and perfect to share for two people. The cheese board was also very good. A nice selection of cheeses. The bread was a little to hard for my liking, but overall very nice board. The pastas were freshly made and the waitress told us they could do variations of them. The staff was friendly, the tables have fresh water that is kept at the table, and the atmosphere makes it feel like a New York hip and modern establishment. Only recommendation is not sitting by the door, as a draft comes through the revolving door. However, the hostess does an extremely excellent job of making sure it is closed. Make it a point to visit this place, I know I will be going back a second time!
The only reason I gave this four stars, was because the portions were big! Which that isn't even much to complain about, I mean they weren't huge, but after eating a started soup and then ordering the fettuccine pasta, I was only able to eat about 1/4 of the pasta dish! And I wasn't able to take it away with me because we were staying in a hotel for just one more day. Also, it's not that the food was bad, just that the portion was too much. Quite the opposite on the former statement, the food was beyond delicious, so many good flavors in everything! The only other thing I can think of, is that it IS pricey, but I mean, for good food, that it's worth! BESIDES that, the atmosphere was great, not too loud at all, subtle nice music playing in the background, and a wonderful clear view of the kitchen and how the restaurant operates. The staff was also super friendly, our waitress was very nice and laughed at ALL of my dads jokes, haha. Definitely hoping to come back here some day with a hungrier stomach to be able to finished the delicious food. This place is totally a family friend, good food, friendly atmosphere place to go!
