Just dropped in from Ohio and looked for restaurants near me while in Pittsburgh on Google. What a find this place was. Super service, I mean when we thought about anything it just showed up. Water, more crackers for your soup, would you like more rolls and butter??? Very cool place inside. Amazing food and top notch service. I'll go out of my way next time I'm in Pittsburgh. 5 stars all the way! Well done to the owners, and staff.
The best burger in Pittsburgh hands down. Forget those other burger places with their fancy oils and seasonings. Tessaro's burgers are fresh beef seasoned with salt and pepper cooked over open flame. This is truly the best most authentic burger in town. I have deviated from the staple but always end up just getting a plain old cheeseburger because there is nothing that can beat this flavor. Service here has always been great with waiters/waitresses dressed in white button downs and dress pants. I have never had the feeling that they were trying to pump tables for money. We have always had plenty of time and felt that our length of stay was our choice. Anyway this place is an absolute treat. Do not hesitate to try it.
Although there are many good burgers around town, when push comes to shove, I often end up telling people Tessaro's makes my favorite burger in Pittsburgh. Also, I love any place that lets me substitute a vegetable for fries (gotta pretend to be healthy, right?) and I always go with their generous portion of broccoli (with melted butter on the side, there goes pretending to be healthy haha). Always warm and gracious staff and owners. A great neighborhood gem.
I would have given this place five stars. The food was excellent the crowd was a decent crowd. However when we ordered our food one of the four of us got a burger that was supposed to medium. The meat was still bloody. So they took her plate back. To make a long story short we were completely done eating (all three of us) and sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the last plate to arrive. Unfortunately she got it to go so we wouldn't have to keep waiting while she ate. The owner Mike was really upset that this happened. I can't say enough about how nice the owner Mike was. She apologized profusely and you could see she really was genuinely concerned and upset that this happened. And again I would have given them five stars if it were not for that experience. It's very unfortunate
This place has an upper and lower seating area and a bar. It's got an older, vintage look. The waitress was pleasant and attentive and the food was good. The potato salad was the best, I would get that again. I had the swordfish sandwich and it was pretty good. My fiance had a burger that he enjoyed. Overall we had a pleasant experience meeting our family rhere. You'll have to parallel park on a semi busy road. It can be difficult to find parking, depending on the time of day. We got there at 5:30 and it was okay, but as we were leaving at 7 (because we sat and talked awhile) it was crowded in the restaurant(on a Thursday) with people.
