“I came here for a salad and to ask about landlords in the surrounding area, Alex was very obliging! He did have a mask on, prepared a huge salad for me with lots of fresh veggies! The ranch was delicious, the salad lasted me two meals and the prices were very reasonable for being in Pittsburgh. Alex also took my name and number to give to a landlord which was so helpful and kind! I’m glad I found this gem and will be returning and recommending to everyone.”

I ran into issues with this specific location, they seemed understaffed and not prepared for the amount of business they were getting. More than once my sandwich was not ready at the time promised for the order ahead pickup. I gave it a few weeks and went back today. Staff multiplied and my sandwich was ready at the exact minute it was promised.”

“Loved our dinner here! The concept is of Chinese hot pot. They offer it as dine-in and takeout. The takeout uses special packaging which was appreciated. The soup comes in a black layered container, the bottom part is a big bowl with broth/toppings and the top layer is a shallow bowl with the noodles. I hate when you order noodle soup you get a tall plastic cylinder of both with some of the toppings in a styrofoam clamshell --then you have to provide your own bowl. For dine-in I think you get a bunch of little bowls on the side where you cook your ingredients in the hot pot. I liked how the menu is curated and was interesting but accessible. We tried 2 of the signature soups with pulled beef, both had a delicious both and were HUGE portions. Once was spicy and the other was not. The spicy wasn't insanely hot and the spice didn't linger. We also ordered the marinated eggs (tasty and a cheap way to add a little extra protein) and a mango drink which was perfect counterbalance for the spicy soup. For our next order I think we are going to get one noodle soup to split plus several appetizers. There are lots of excellent noodle soup places in SH but I think Dagu is one of my favorites. My family really enjoyed the food as the concept was fun as well.”

“Taro milk tea was on the sweeter side, but at least there was good tea flavour in there as well, not just sweetness like some places. Boba is an additional $1.50 charge, which is out of the ordinary as most places include it (and generally put more in), but I guess on the flip side if you don't want it, you can pay less. On another random note, they do use recyclable plastic #1 cups, which I always look out for now since another local place uses #5 (aka trash).”

“Fresh, hot, and spicy!! So delicious and warming on a cold winter day and it’s also great in the summer with a nice cold beer! Delivery is always fast, and my order is correct and on time every time. This is NOT like regular soup, all of the broth is not meant to be eaten; this is Asian Hot Pot or MaLaTang, similar to French fondue, the broth the food cooks in is not meant to be eaten. Love Mr. Egg’s Kitchen and very glad this place opened around here for our authentic SPICY and HOT MaLaTang Hot Pot cravings!!”

“As a vegan its nice to be able to go to a restaurant for special occasions and not have to call ahead. One of the owners is also vegan therefore the vegan food actually taste great and balanced, instead of being thrown together last minute. I enjoy being able to walk here as well as the in door and out door seating. Their drink menu has many cocktail but as someone who enjoys good beer they have few options but the options they have are always great beers (catch 22). However on that note they are always coming up with theme nights and pairings and I was happy to see that there was a beer pairing night (unfortunately not vegan but it means that more could be coming). I strongly recommend this place to vegans and non-vegans as their menu is very well balanced. Its also a nice place to take mixed groups when it comes to dietary restriction, everyone will leave happy.”
