I mean we got very "lucky" to be able to seat in the shared table by the fire place and spoke to two different couples while there. (Great conversation). The place definitely has a charm, lots of character. The waitress basically took out order and we never saw her again. The service was definitely not great. I get it, it is a tourist place. The food was just ok for Pub food. I had ten thousand times better. It was great for one visit but next time we will go elsewhere for good food. The fries were burn, the devil eggs were just plain, nothing special, the salad had too much dressing. The burger was very good, cooked to perfection.
Such an amazing place! The food was outstanding. Duck meatballs, scallops, grilled artichokes, and exotic salt deviled eggs
Charming, very good food, but not cheap! Prices are reasonable for New Hope. The usual parking nightmare, but you can park right next door at the Buck's County Playhouse for $20 even if you don't see a play. The halibut ? bisque is to die for!!! ????????Some pretty nifty drinks too ????????????!!!
I ended up at The Salt House one night because the kitchens everywhere else were closed and it quickly became a favorite. The cheese plate is always awesome and so is the burger... I wish I knew what they did to get the caramelized onions to be so yummy! The alcohol selection is great... They have common brands, higher end brands, and some to discover. The wait staff and bartenders are attentive without being overbearing... I've never felt rushed out of here.
Be aware though that the space isn't huge... There are a few tables downstairs and a few tables upstairs. They do have seating outside on the patio when the weather is nice. You can reserve a table on line, but that does require a $50 deposit.
This place is awesome. The menu added the perfect amount of creativity to some common dishes, which definitely set them apart from an entree you would get somewhere else.
We ordered the venison chili, the short ribs, and the burger. All three were excellent. The timing of serving and the temperature of the food was perfect (this seems simple but I have been to too many places that don't seem to get the timing right, and the food doesn't come out hot).
Our server was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive. I will definitely be back soon....very eager to try some other menu items, specifically the bacon wrapped dates and the crostini.
