Lovey Poke & Tea House

Address: 31 S State St, Newtown, PA 18940, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“A bubble tea place that has alternative milk (almond, oat)! They added food after their rebrand but I haven't tried it, just the drinks. As a vegan I was happy to see that there's finally a bubble tea place with that option since they usually use non-dairy milk powder. It's like other places - you can control the ice level, sweetness level, and also if you want a stronger tea flavor. You just need to ask the cashier. A drink is around $7 if you get a large with one topping, but service is quick and friendly - also it's around the normal price for Main Street Newtown. Ambiance of the place is fine. Small, some background classical music playing, well-lit, lots of seating areas. A mishmash of "Asian" decor, some kid-friendly. Keep in mind the regular sweetness level is quite sweet, so if you usually lower the sweetness level at other places, make sure to do so here also. But if you are just trying it for the first time, try the regular level and expect a sweet treat. :)”

“Summary: Food: Exceptional Service: Good Atmosphere: Spot-on Details: They brought out a nice, warm rosemary bread and butter to start. Crisp on the outside, nice and plush on the inside (not super dense, but the kind that is a little doughy if you squish it 👌🏼) Steak: I ordered the 8oz filet mignon, cooked medium. It was served with a scoop of rosemary butter which complimented the meat nicely. It was cooked very tenderly and had a nice flavor. This was what I came here for, and was not disappointed. I would get it again! All sides were ala carte. The serving size was large and shareable for two, which was a nice surprise. Here is what I ordered: Grilled asparagus: A decent amount of vegetable! Light garlicky flavor, served with a lemon. Tasty and refreshing with a slight crisp. Truffle fries: Crisp and fresh. (They may be the double fried kind, very crispy but not overdone!) Nicely seasoned, with just the right amount of parmesan. Brussels Sprouts: I tend to love my sprouts crispy, and these were not, but they had a really nice flavor and still had a char. They were dense but also were not over-saturated with maple which I appreciated. The bacon pieces were done nicely. A little hint of spice as well. I gave 5 stars but would do a 4.5 if possible. The steak & atmosphere was exceptional, but the service met basic standards. She did her job, so no complaints there other than having to ask for water refills each time. For the price point you'd expect a bit more of a welcoming vibe after the initial order - it seemed like she was friendly in the beginning for the initial order, and then completely disassociated with the table afterwards. Hope she was having an ok day! The bussers and runners were all very friendly and did a great job. Overall: Great date-night experience. It also looked like there was a great vibe at the bar, and people were super friendly and welcoming when we walked in. Thank you for a great meal!”

Isaac Newton's Bar & Restaurant

Address: 18 S State St, Newtown, PA 18940, USA

Restaurant

“5 stars for an authentic craft beer pub vibe in both atmosphere (great bar) and food (don't go astray beyond feel-good pub fare). 4 stars for the downstairs atmosphere as it immediately loses the pub vibe with the same menu and 3 stars for the upstairs for adults (4 stars if you are a family with small children). So I tried my best on the overall star rating based on the 3 different personalities of this restaurant. Top 3 pub in my opinion in the 50 mile radius; but if you aren't looking for a pub vibe or a place to dine with small kids in the upstairs area, there are may other restaurants in the area I prefer. But for a true pub experience, 5 stars and get there early as it gets busy especially on the weekends! I've included photos of the bar area portion that I give 5 of 5 stars for pub experience.”

“Stopped by today just to see what it was like ...I work locally....and In the early morning hours I have been working on a photo project in downtown Newtown...photographing the store fronts...before the birds wake up. Very small homelike atmosphere...clean...the daughter stopped in or maybe a coworker for a visit and you could see a special family bond..The owner was friendly and made some suggestions for my first time ...offered me a menu to take ...I went for a couple slices of plain pizza ....You cant fool me with how Pizza should taste ..I have been to many pizza parlors...and know my pie....The crust was light and crunchy...absolutely killer awesome great ...I could have just eaten that ...the sauce tasted home made with light bites of tomato. ..a good tasting sauce with perfectly cooked cheese .. I sat in the parking lot and ate it....my regret is that I did not get a whole pie...I will be back again ...today's soup was home made tomato soup ...and a chicken special on the board...I will now list this place as a must stop in....”
