J Gumbos

Some pretty dang good Gumbo! It's easy to miss the place if you're not looking for it but if you're looking for a N'awlins fix, this is the place. It's a small menu of New Orleans/Creole items, all of them are stews served in a bowl. I stopped by on a Wednesday but it looks like they are set up for music.

Ok, I'm picky about my Louisiana food! It smelled good. The portion was huge, just like it should be. However I have never had a tomato baser jambalaya before. Now the sausage and chicken were really good. But the tomato base with the rice, kinda strange. The place was spotless, server was friendly and they give free tastings. I'll have to be really homesick, but I'm sure we will try it again.

Delicious food, friendly staff, always great quick way to get something yummy. Especially Bumblebee stew. (Also noticed a beautiful Hammond organ on the premises just like the one I used to have.)

Stopped in for a bite while traveling through and we were quite impressed. The Jambalaya and the Gumbo were on our list and they were delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. She even offered the punch card...can't beat free food! We will definitely return the next time we are in town!
